They took Harold with them; and won a great prize!

Back in March this year, we launched our fun photo competition “Don’t Go Abroad Without Me” which aimed to highlight the importance of taking travel insurance away with you on your trip abroad, as well as providing entrants with the chance to get creative, have some fun, and maybe win themselves a great prize in the process.

Entrants took a picture of Harold (one of our Partners) away with them on holiday  – or on a  day out –  and included him in a photograph.  Their picture was then collected in our Facebook Album, available for people to ‘like’ their favourite.  Harold was taken to a variety of exotic locations, including a beer festival in Old, Northants, a Celebrity Eclipse Cruise in Villefranche, Corfu, Lanzarote, M & M World, London, Hamleys, London and even floating in Space!  He certainly enjoyed a varied holiday itinerary this Summer…

Hopefully, none of the people that contributed to the competition (and we are grateful for the efforts of everyone who did so) needed to claim on their travel insurance while they were away.  However, there are no guarantees that your much-anticipated time away will go off without a hitch, and it is essential that you have travel insurance before you go away to protect yourself against the unexpected.

When you have taken travel insurance out you are protected with a financial buffer for medical emergencies, the loss or theft of personal belongings and the cancellation of your holiday, amongst other invaluable benefits.  The message is, if you are going abroad, you should ensure that you can also afford to take travel insurance with you too, as the outcome could be extremely costly and stressful if you haven’t, and everything doesn’t go to plan.
