WVS Logo

Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) is a UK registered charity (No.1100485) committed to improving the treatment and welfare of all animal species throughout the world.

The main emphasis is on providing a sustainable veterinary resource in the form of volunteer veterinary teams, drugs, equipment and advice to assist animal charities and non-profit organisations around the world.

WVS currently have over 220 charities registered for assistance and send out, on average, £15,000 worth of drugs and equipment and 3 teams a month to destinations worldwide on projects which range from neutering expeditions and mobile health clinics to welfare education programmes and conservation projects.

The health and livelihoods of people, particuarly those in developing regions, are inextricably linked to animal health and disease control. WVS provides veterinary trained personnel and support crews to assist with projects that address these issues.

WVS also runs projects to train veterinary professionals, paraprofessionals and veterinary students in countries where veterinary assistance is limited and has initiated numerous training programmes around the world.

CHARITY OBJECTIVES

WVS seek to alleviate suffering and improve the welfare and moral perception of animals worldwide by:

- Co-ordinating teams of volunteers to assist the work of animal welfare organisations in all countries
- Supplying medicines, equipment and advice where they are needed most
- Providing sustainable input, building long term relationships and leading education programmes to the benefit of local animal and human populations
- Promoting and conducting research in all matters relating to animal welfare

WVS has also recently created an Emergency Disaster Response team and has already sent two teams to assist with animal welfare initiatives in the IDP camps in Kenya, including vaccination, neutering and educational programmes.
